The TAMU Office of Undergraduate Research offers resources and Programs for TAMU undergrads to participate in research. The University is renowned for its highly motivated students and faculty members, not to mention its world-class research facilities.
The Protein Chemistry Laboratory participated in the Program in 2008-2009 by hosting an undergraduate Scholar, Pilar Roper-Foo (Genetics Major), in our laboratory. Pilar worked on a research project that investigated the differences in the protein profile (proteome) of immature and mature equine testes. Her project, entitled: “Changes in protein expression in maturing equine testis; a quantitative DIGE analysis” (see poster) won Second Prize at the URSP Research Competition in May 2009.
We encourage all undergraduates who are interested in performing research in the Scholars Program to visit the Undergraduate Research Program website for details. THE 2009-2010 APPLICATION DEADLINE IS 5 pm, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2009.
